See picture......... The bracket at the bottom is cracked all the way through.
Questions:
1) Is this an automatic leak?
2) What is the bracket made of? Is it weldable material?
3) If not, could I use Marine Tex to put it back together or does anyone have one I could buy?
It's a 58 Cavalier

Re: Broken Rudder Assembly
Not necessarily an automatic leak but for safety definitely needs to be replaced. The material is cast bronze. To far gone to be repairable and Marine Tex here is not an option. Your only solution is finding a new one or having one made.
Re: Broken Rudder Assembly
I can get them new. I just need your complete hull number. Also you need to pull the rudder out and make sure the shaft is not bent. By the way its broken and the extra carriage bolt thats there it took a really hard hit sometime in its life.
Re: Broken Rudder Assembly
Thanks guys. Assuming I can get it apart I'll be in touch Jim.
