Greg;

Yes it is well documented that in 1940 the color schemes were different and unique.

17' Deluxe and 19' Custom were orange deck seams and boot top and the 23' had green treatment.

I could not have documented the original materials without the help of several great people who had the forethought to save the original material.

I obtained original samples of the orange deck seam compound for matching. I was lucky that I was able to find an old paint company that still make the same color called International orange. It's made by a Marine paint company and it can be ordered from a number of sources. I can't remember the name off the top of my head. I keep several cans at home to help people out. When I get back home I can post the name.

Are there any other questions you have regarding this subject? Just ask.

Thanks
