Propeller Identification

Post by Roger Smith » Fri Jun 30, 2006 3:14 pm

Looking at the 1946 Chris-Craft propeller service bulletin, obtained via the good offices of Tom King, I need help with the numbering system. The "official" list uses all four digit numbers to describe prop size, pitch, shaft, etc. The propeller number on the plate on my 1952 racing runabout says correct prop is number 759. Three digits! I'm pretty sure I'm running the correct prop (13x16)with my MBL, and I thought the service bulletin would absolutely confirm that. Is there another (later)list with other numbers??

Another Prop Spec Needed

Post by Bill Basler » Mon Jul 31, 2006 11:43 pm

Drrot:
Does your reference indicate the specs on a prop, #666? I had never seen this number. As an alternate, 3212 RH

Thanks.

Bill,
666 is a 12X15X1RH used on smaller boats with 283s
3212 is a 13X11X1RH

Roger, you have the document you need on the CD. Look at the one that says, "CC Propeller Wheel Specs 1946-1956. This document states that the 19 foot RR with MBL should have a (158), wheel no. 758, 13x16-1/2x1
