compression check 95K

Post by John Earley » Sun Nov 06, 2005 9:01 pm

Hi everyone
I have a 49 cc runabout deluxe with a 95hp K engine.

A friend helped me with a compression check and the following resulted.

Cyln.1-152 Cyln.2-150 cyln.3-142

cyln.4-142 cyln.5-150 cyln.6-155

Do these look OK?

Next we put a tablespoon of mystery oil in cylinder and checked compression again to see if rings were OK. The values were virtually the same as 1st check.
Was this correct procedure and can I assume the engine, at least for this test is in good shape?
Thanks for the forum
John E.

You should be very happy with those numbers and the best part is they're all within 10% of each other
