Slipping forward gear and not-engaging reverse gear
Good day to all. I recently purchased a 1958 Sea Skiff 22 with a 130HP Hercules 6-flat M engine. The previous owner "regulated a screw" in the transmission box because the reverse gear was too hard to engage, but the result is that, when over 2000rpm, the forward gear slips off, so I have to reduce the rpm to go back in gear and, on top of that, the reverse does not engage whatsoever. A dear friend is an old time mechanics, very knowledgeable and trustworthy, and he could help me fixing the problem but he would like to have an explosion diagram of the transmission to be sure of what needs to be done. I've been looking around for a while but to no end. So, to my fellow members: does anybody have such a diagram or a resource to get it? Or, has anybody encountered and solved the same problems? Thank you in advance for the help!

Re: Slipping forward gear and not-engaging reverse gear
I hope this helps. The adjustment for forward clutch discs and the reverse band are separate and one shouldn’t effect the other. I suppose if the reverse band is too tight it could cause drag on the fwd discs.
