Winterizing and Storage for Chris-Craft Post War Runabout

Winterizing? Summerizing? Covering? Trailering? If it is about a boat out of water put it here.

Winterizing and Storage for Chris-Craft Post War Runabout

Post by Scamp » Fri Oct 02, 2009 2:09 pm

I have to put her away for the first time after her restoration this summer and I was thinking that I merely had to run an anti-freeze solution through the intake for the coolant. Is there anything else I should be doing? Also, should I store my baby in heated storage or will it be fine in sub-zero temperatures. Will it dry out?

I am a new post war runabout owner also. I have been advised by our local wooden boat gurus to avoid storing over a concrete floor. It tends to dry out the wood. They say a dirt floor is much better.

What about cold air? Any problem drying out the wood?
