"Production" cover to Fit 18' CC Riviera
My 18' 1952 Riviera needs a boat cover but I do not want to invest $700 in a custom made cover. Does anyone know a manufacturer that has a cover that will fit a Riviera close enough for storage purposes? Possibly, a canvas shop with the necessary dimensions to make a cover from past experience? I would think that the 17' 7" length and 6' 3" beam dimensions along with the location and size of the windshield would suffice in selecting an 'off the shelf' cover. Has anyone had a good experience in selecting a 'production cover' for an 18' Riviera?
Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you talking about indoor or outdoor storage ?
I found a stock cover at my local K Mart of all places. It was mis-priced for $25 (should have been $125). They come in different sizes.
No it does not fit perfect but it does what I need it to - keep varmints out and dust off the deck.

Hey Mark, "Smokin deal' on the K mart cover. I'll take that under advisement.
The majority of the time the Riviera will be stored inside; outside for short periods. Would like some feedback on how the 'production ' covers for "Trophy Ski Boats" and other alternatives like "Outboard Runabouts" fit the old wood Chris Crafts if anyone has attempted to purchase these 'production' covers from the manufacturer's descriptions and related dimensions.
Thanks, Steve

Thanks for that 'link' Jim. I ordered Overton's best quality / material cover, "Covermate HD 600 Trailerable Cover for 17'-19' V-Hull Boat". Total price was $122.39, with a 20% discount. Will post my assessment after receiving and installing the cover. Can't imagine how I could go wrong for the price!

Attached are a couple of photos of the Overton cover for 'V' Hull 17'-19'. It is not obvious but one of the photos shows the starboard quarter with the cover in place. The cover is plenty big to cover the 18' Riviera, if anything it is too big. If I had it to do it over again I think I would order the next size smaller for the 'V' hull. In any case the cover fills my need and is of decent quality. I don't know if I would want to trailer the boat with the cover on, although with the provided straps in place they may prevent the cover from flapping in the wind. Still think a smaller size would have more of a 'custom fit' look to it.

since I never plan to trailer a boat with the cover on.....I just buy like a 19foot cover for a 16. Get those on sale at Walmart in the offseason. This is of course for boat store inside a shed.

equally important is not to pay for more than you need. I do not trailer a wooden boat with a cover on...too much varnish rash from the wind.
I always get an oversize cheapo cover....because I am just using it as a dust cover and being oversize it is easier to put on......I don't get one that is so large it will cover the outboard...just use a sheet for that....
