I have not received mine yet here in Calgary, unfotunately. We (CCABC BOD) are going to speak with the mailing house about this problem. A month+ to get a 14 ounce magazine to Canada is ridiculous - no other way to describe it. We will determine what the problem is, and assess mailing alternatives if necessary. We'll provide an update when have obtained an explantion for this pathetic delivery time. No wonder the USPS is practically bankrupt.

I suggest we send all Canadian issues to Alex in Hessel. He can smuggle therm across the border and ship the through Canada Post.

The problem, as far as I know, was non-existant before. What has changed? :?

I have always experienced delays in receiving US based publications up in Canada, and that continues. I get the Rudder, Classic boating and mailings from the ACBS that always take longer to arrive here. I don't know if it is better or worse now than before, but my perception is that this delay is worse than before. As I stated, we are looking into it and will let you know. We may have to mail the mag's first class - I think they are being mailed in a periodical class - I am not sure. I have limited experience with the USPS and we are going back to the mailing house for an explanation.

With the preceeding issue, the delay in mail delivery was ridiculous all over the US - it took several weeks for it to start hitting the mailboxes after the printer dropped it at the mailing house. I don't know why that occurred either, though this time US delivery occurred quite quickly. We'll let you know what the mailing house comes back with.

patrick, can you please send me a private message with your current german address? I dont understand that. I got one returned the other day from Belgrade, Serbia because of a wrong address and we resent to new address furnished by our member there. So if it can make the round trip from Serbia it ought to be able to get to germany, one would think? we will also send previous issue, too.

I never received one in Minneapolis and it's the end of October. My membership is up to date and I'm scheduled to receive The Brass Bell through Winter 2013. Is there a copy online anywhere? I'd really like to see it.

Rabbit,

Thanks for letting us know. They started showing up over a month ago so it obviously was lost. We'll get one in the mail to you. Is your address and zip code correct in the Member Directory?

Based on the comments in this thread - It's now approximately three months since most club members in the USA received their Brass Bell Volume XXXVIII, Number 1 in the mail.

Have the other Canadian club members received their copies yet? I have not.

My most recent version of The Rodder's Journal magazine arrived in my mail box (shipped from South San Francisco) 10 days after the shipping date on the envelope.

Reg - I checked my mail yesterday and I do not have it either. We began to get replies from International members last week that it had been received in Europe, for instance, but I have not heard of any members in Canada receiving theirs. A second batch was mailed to all non-US members about 3 weeks ago by the service that we contract to do the mailing.

As far as I know, the USPS has not even informed our mailing service or us as to what went wrong on the initial mailing, let alone the second. No issues have been received back - I do know that. I have been receiving my issues of the Rudder and other US mailings without difficulty. I do not know the answer, but inquiries will have to be made on Monday.

Still no Brass Bell for me in Minneapolis. It would be a great Christmas present if it arrived!
