A reminder to all, please use the "Add Image to Post" option for including your photos on your posts on Boat Buzz. It takes little more time to use this option than to link via html to your photos posted on other photo hosting sites.

There are reasons for this. First, if you use this option the photo host that this forum uses, will automatically thumbnail the photos keeping message sizes and load times down. Please be considerate to all who use Boat Buzz. Every so often I hear from a member who is on dial up, who cannot wait for a post to load with 10 or more high res photos. The thumbnails allow posts to load quickly, and you high res is only a click away.

Please remember that we have members on Boat Buzz from all corners of the globe, including remote/rural areas where there are simply not broadband options.

Thank you all.

I just noticed that PostImage.org includes a handy tool for resizing images. Was this a recent addition? Some images in the past were being posted full size if they were around 600 pixels in width, thus, not providing a thumbnail image on Boat Buzz.

If this is still happening, the "resize" tool makes it handy to change the post to something larger so that a thumbnail is presented in lieu of the large original that consumes more storage and slows things down. You do need to know the size of the photo that you are about to download before you get to PostImage.org though.
