Swim/boarding ladder
I’m looking for plans/specs to build a swim ladder for our sportsman. Saw it in classic boat hardware but they appear to be out of business so was hoping someone may have the plans?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Swim/boarding ladder
I'm not sure if this is any interest to you but I just recently picked one of these up. It was a used one on ebay. I haven't used it yet but this was pretty much my only option for my sportsman. I can put this under the bow when not in use.

I’ll have to keep this in mind.
I was going to try and redo the front a bit to get some storage in the bow. It’s pretty blocked off right now.

I would be careful with that idea...wondering if a standard type platform would affect performance? Might drag upon acceleration or something...act sort of like a trim tab but maybe in an unwanted way? Through research and advice from others is the key I guess? John in Va

The one at Freedom is amazing and the right one to have. It can be stowed away and all thought through. Also anything off the transom has to be screwed into the boat, and your feet are near the prop, which is insane dangerous. YA NEVER KNOW.

Wasn’t after a swim platform off the back. Just really liked the look of the folding ladder setup.
But sounds like theFreedom ladder is the way to go.

If you buy a used one then you need to make sure that the standoffs will hit your spray rail. If not then you may have to re-drill and re-locate.
If you cannot find the mahogany colored 3 step version there is a white 4 step which is similar.

For this one they mount the standoffs to the step so you can drill and mount where you like.
I have both as the 4 step is better for deeper water or shorter people.

Re: Swim/boarding ladder
we are talking two different accessories: swim platform vs boarding ladder....I like the hang over easy to stow types.

Yup, i'm not interested in a platform. That Eez ladder looks nice, but i was really hoping to get the plans and build a folding ladder, but might not be an option.

Re: Swim/boarding ladder
I would bet you can find such plans...or copy someone's original...thing is storing ladders is a problem....take up a lot of space, if you just want to get in and out...and are in shape....you can get one of those ladders in a bag...rope deal...easy to stow.
