This diagram comes in handy when repairing your Ivalite. The acorn nut can be found in stainless at http://www.mcmaster.com/. I just used a stainless washer under the acorn trim nut. Buffed them both to chrome-like shine. Used another nut and washer behind the dash to tighten the assembly. http://up...

While you may find a font that closely resembles the logo, it will never be exactly the same. Those letters were hand-drawn. Best luck is to enlarge the cleanest original logo you can find, and scan it into the computer to "digitize" it. Once digital, it can be cleaned up, traced, enlarged, printed,...

I won't get a chance to look at it until this weekend. I'm in Chicago, the boat sits in Michigan. I can tell you that the stick has no signs of a logo and is in "used" condition. Could be that is has worn off over the years. The measurements are crudely stamped into the stick. If I were to put a log...

Believe it or not, I have the original fuel dip stick with my 1952 18' Sportsman. It's a 20 gallon tank. I will post photos and dimensions when I get a chance. That being said, with the capacity and dimensions known for a 20 gallon tank one should be able to calculate the fuel stick markings for any...

Midwest Transom Painter
Just discovered a sign painter/pinstriper in Naperville, IL. She has over 30 years of experience and does great lettering work. She has only done a few boats but would love to get more in her shop to add to her portfolio. She paints on everything: signs, trucks, bikes, etc. It's a dying trade that s...

I just had my K worked on this summer. http://homepage.mac.com/cdurren/PhotoAlbum49.html It's not a full "show" restoration, but it runs like a top and will show just fine. Affordable parts and service shops are readily available in the midwest. Shoot me an email and I'll give you some links and con...
