Original Post from Archive by Chris Daraska: Bottom Paint

Chris; You would be wise to use the Interlux 2000E Epoxy barrier coat before the #1959. CPES, 2000E and then #1959 is perfect combo. Thx Don Hello, Can anyone recommend a good primer for pettiit hard racing copper bronze bottom paint? Sides and bottom have cpes applied to them already. Or can I forg...

Lester Prairie Engines 320-395-2881 and Wagamon Bros. 763-789-7227 are two excellent rebuilers in Minnesota.

Email Digests

Some of you may have discovered this already. Others of you have inquired, so I know it is a feature that is of interest. We have configured the message board to send out email "digests" if you so choose. "Digests are email summaries of messages posted here that are sent to you periodically. Digests...

Rich: I agree. The problem is the "Location" field on the member profile form is fairly wide open. Some of yu are entering City, ST. Some are just entering ST. And since it is not a required field, some are not entering anything at all. The only way I could do this would be to divide the location fi...

Hull Side Script: Original Post from Archive by Bill Basler

Peyton: The script used by Chris Craft is not based on one particular type font of the day. Keep in mind that back in the early 1900's there were no computers, thus no fonts as we know them today. The fonts that were available were cast in lead. A typical print shop might have a dozen fonts if they ...

Group; Sorry for the delay in sending this message, the day job really gets in the way. I have received many responses requesting that I share the research on the logo issue as well as other topics. After thinking about it I have decided this forum is not the place to do that. The biggest issue is t...

Gang: As you might imagine I have been doing quite a lot of research on this subject for the Barrel series. You would not believe the countless hours I have spent studying original photos and all documentation on the subject. First and foremost the reproduction decals that are available today are no...

Posted from Archive: Gold vs. Silver Hull Side Script

Wilson, I don't recall asking you, but it has been a question I've been pondering for quite some while. Unfortunately, I wasn't the one doing the research so I am just as much in the dark as the next guy. As you know one of our favorite magazines claims the silver was standard prior to 1940 or so. I...

I would at least suggest sorting your archive by date with the oldest first. Post the oldest. Then work your way up to the newer. That way if there is a reply/addition to the thread it will be posted to the new system in chronological order.

I am trying to strategize on how to get that old content out there. Ideally, I would have all of the threads posted and responded to by their original authors. Since all of the old content exists in email archives, I am trying to figure out the best method for handling this. The last thing I want is...

Anodes

My only experience with anodes in fresh water is on steel and aluminum hulled craft and my fiberglass (gasp) boat that is my daily driver. The anodes that I am familiar with are almost always zinc. As I understand it, zinc is one of the most sacrifical metals, giving itself up more readily than othe...

I have some work to do here. It is clearly not working as it should. I have also tried the web URL way of uploading an avatar with no success. There are a few problems in the PHP code I wil try to get to the bottom of.
