Can you tell me the horsepower for L,LA,LB, and LC engines? I believe these all use the Hercules JXC block. The Aluminium head for the L series often goes bad, does the K series head (Hercules QXD block) interchange with the L series engines?

My Tachometer works if you remove from engine and spin the cable with an electric drill. Any ideas what could be problem engine side? I know some of the gears were fiber on this engine, any ideas? Thanks CJ

Thanks, That sounds like good advice. I have worked extensively with Ford Model A Babbitted engines and with a high compression head a modest increase in Horse power does increase the performance without decreasing engine life.

I am having a 4 cylinder Chrysler rebuilt for 1932 15.5 runabout and wish to keep the engine original, but would not mind increasing the horse power from the 55hp original output. Can anyone tell me where I can find serial numbers chart the ID's year for B engines? I wish to obtain a later 1930's model in hopes it has inserted bearings. Needed for 15.5 ft Chris
