Your last video was great. It really shed some light on the process, and demonstrated how speed can be a such a key element when sanding. As I beleive your words describe in varnishing as well. Thanks Mark, I am sure it will be appreciated by many. :D Oh and Al, Thanks for the input, going to learn ...

Does anyone know of a video of varnishing?????

I am usually pretty good about figuring things out, but after reading countless hours of tequniues I find myself terified to apply these products on this fine boat I have been preping! I have all the right products and and the recomended tools, but still strugle with the teqniques. I am so very appr...

Thanks for all the input guys. I have her propped up to work on the bottom and plan on carefully removing some of the "rubber like" caulk that is coming out, with a utility blade. Then trying to refill it with a new product. So what I gather I should use either Sikaflex, and/or slick Slick seam.???? ...

Help! Engine identification

Confused on the engine identification. Came on my 1956 Sportsman. I know it was a replacement from the original, but was wondering if anyone could shed some light the good stuff? Thanks.

I would love to see more pictures of your boat. Ive always appreciated old boats. The guy who sold me the boat, said it was a 1957. Although I have been told that it's actually a 1956. That explains the woodpecker with the '57....To change that is on my list as well. I am really interested in making...

Wow! Thanks a ton Jim! Tons of great stuff to keep me busy. The engine was replaced ten years ago so it wasn't the original, but still is a Chris Craft. I will find out more for you on that....
Thanks a ton for all the great info. The bottom of your boat looks fantastic. :)

Hey thanks a ton  , I was looking at the photos of other boats and could not compute the 1957 finishes compared to the 1956 style. Had a feeling that something wasn't correct. Thanks Jim. Overall she looks good at least to my eye. I am going to take more photos today and post some for you. Th...

Thanks Jim, my hull # cc-17-2385. I am very reluctant to add any product on top of what already exists. It is not in need of stripping the varnish entirely, only in a few places. So I would like ANY advice I can get on matching the colors and finishes. I will take pictures soon and everything is gre...

First of all thank you for the warm invitation. I am a carpenter by trade, although these beautiful pieces of art deserve the finest treatments. It seems to be taken very seriously. I would love to see her swell and hit the water again. With the right products and care. In Portland we have plenty of...

17' Sportsman

Just purchased A beautiful CC Sportsman in need of a "spruce". She was professionally restored 10 years ago, but has been sitting in a barn and only ran once a year since. Needless to say, she since has some cracking in some spots on top, and looks to be a little dry. I am reluctant to strip and var...
