Re: 12 V Conversion Voltage Dropping Device (VDD)
If you want to go from 6 to 12 volts you can use a device called a boost converter. They're very efficient and you can find loads on eBay. Just make sure you get one with the required amperage.

Sold my Connie
After about 15 years, I finally sold my 1958 48' Constellation. That thing they say about "the day you sell your boat being the second happiest day" is a crock! I feel like I lost my best dog. The new owner is a good friend and will take good care of her, and you guys will probably see him on here s...

Spiral Nails for window trim?q
Hey all,
1959 58' Connie. What are these nails called that hold all the window trim in and is their a source for them? I'd ideally LOVE to find some just a smidgen bigger if there was such a thing.

58 Connie Re-finishing hand rails
I need to strip and re-varnish the hand rails around the aft deck of my Connie. Any thoughts on whether I should strip and re-finish in place or remove and take to a shop? Seems like removing would be easier, except I worry about the ability to get the stanchion hardware a part since it's been paint...

Re: 58 Connie Fuel starvation Problem - SOLVED!
Hey all, First let me say thanks for all the advice and wisdom given over the years and in this thread on this matter. I believe I've finally declared victory! I removed the anti siphon jet from the fuel pickup tube and sealed it with a screw and thread sealant. I also removed all of the Teflon tape...

I have a racor inline, bot sure what filter is in it. I think I'm going to replace the anti siphon gizmo with an in-line valve, re-do all of the pipe joints with compound to replace the teflon tape and see how it goes.. Thanks for the help everybody!

Re: 58 Connie Fuel starvation Problem
Her Name when I got her was "joy" Before that when my Grandfather owned her she was called "Marjucyn 5" (Margaret Judith Cynthia) That must be an error in the registry that I probably made when filling out the form.
Does anyone know the screw size to replace the anti siphon jet?

I'm looking for advice on how to solve a long-running issue I've had with the 454's on my Connie. The damn things run rich! Interesting! I never heard the term "after fire" before. Makes perfect sense since a "backfire" is firing BACK through the carb..
Thanks!

Varnish bad?
I've got half a can of epiphanes clear varnish that's a bit filmy on top. It's only a couple of months old. Is it shot? Is there a way to revive it? Anything to prevent this with the next can?
Thanks all!

Hello all, and happy Holidays! I've got 5 coats of varnish on my bow rail and its looking good except that the stain color has come out redder than the original stain.
