I am suspicious of the fuel in both cases. In the first if you are overheating the problem would be more evident than the loss of a few hundred RPM. In the case of the Lancer I would first look at your fuel situation. Check your fuel/water separators as you probably are loaded up. The bearing is not...

Ditto on finding those impeller pieces. As you find them put the pieces together to know where you stand. You really want to get them all out of the system.
