It took me along time to get around to it, but I finally did take apart the carb, give it a good cleaning, and replace the needle valves. It took some trial and error, but I think I finally got the float setting correct. The float setting measurements that came with the carb kit did not make sense.....

I have a '63 ski boat with a 283 and Rochester 4-barrel carb. The engine runs perfectly at the dock throughout the full throttle range and at any operating temperature.
