It took me along time to get around to it, but I finally did take apart the carb, give it a good cleaning, and replace the needle valves. It took some trial and error, but I think I finally got the float setting correct. The float setting measurements that came with the carb kit did not make sense.....

283 Rough Idle
I have a '63 ski boat with a 283 and Rochester 4-barrel carb. The engine runs perfectly at the dock throughout the full throttle range and at any operating temperature. On the water, however, after running at midrange throttle for awhile, pulling it back to idle causes it to run very roughly and eve...
