I was impressed by Wade also. I met him at Taveres. He seemed knowledgeable and seemed to have good quality castings for a lot of different pieces.

You may be able to re-fasten then re-fair and sand the deck. The seams could be cleaned out and re-caulked. As long as the planks are not split it would be an easier process.

I think you would probably save money by replacing the entire transom ilo the cost of a new wife. They are very costly to replace and she would probably end up with the boat any how.

Another thing to consider is that the car must be able to pull the weight of the boat, trailer, fuel, passengers and gear. I wouldn't do it with only the lifting rings and I think I'm fearless. At least keep something under the boat even if you move it aroud as you work from one area of the boat to the other. Safety first! You want to see that boat in the water again.
