I was impressed by Wade also. I met him at Taveres. He seemed knowledgeable and seemed to have good quality castings for a lot of different pieces.

I will be there at 4:00 on Friday. I hope to meet as many as I can. I will be wearing my CCABC brown shirt that I bought last year when I met Bill. I saw the Riva and followed it through the sale. This is a great club to belong to. Thanks!!!!

Is there a time or a place where people might meet up to meet other people from Boat Buzz and enjoy an adult beverage? I would like to meet some of our members and see thier faces. I will be there Friday and Saturday. I was there last year but got caught up in all the excitement and didn't get to pe...

I'm believe it was recorded and I'll check with Dennis tommorrow. They had a good turnout as alway's. Lou's crew always does a good job. I believe everybody is getting anxious to have the snow go away and get back on the water this spring. Herb Pocklington is really putting a lot of time into the Ch...

Antique Boat Center?

Who will be at the Antique Boat Center this Saturday for the open house? I am a regular there, as they are close to me(Cincinnati) and very knowledgeable. Very good people with the hobby/business in mind. I would like to meet some of the regular CCABC Boat Buzzers there. I expect a record crowd and ...

You may be able to re-fasten then re-fair and sand the deck. The seams could be cleaned out and re-caulked. As long as the planks are not split it would be an easier process.

I think you would probably save money by replacing the entire transom ilo the cost of a new wife. They are very costly to replace and she would probably end up with the boat any how.

Thanks for the information so far. I did contact Hydro Electric and they only have a motor pump. I was hoping to get a manual so I could get some idea on what I need and how it operates. I have also contacted the Mariner's Museum. They have not located any info yet. Does anyone have a manual from a ...

Runabout with Chris-O -Matic

Can anyone help me on the rebuilding of a Chris-O- Matic for runabouts. I understand they came out in 1953 and would like to rebuild mine over the winter, I need manuals and information on where I can get a rebuild kit or the parts for such. It probably needs a selenoid, seals, and gears. I have not...

That's just to cool and I missed it. With that price for 9 boats and the space it would have taken, my wife might have accepted me having 9 boats. Let's see my Santa's wish list includes a Racing Runabout, a U-22, a Barrelback, a finned boat like the one at Mt. Dora, a XK, a Century Arabian, an Expr...

Another thing to consider is that the car must be able to pull the weight of the boat, trailer, fuel, passengers and gear. That is probably pushing the weight limit over because that adds 1000-1500 pounds easily. Some of the smaller boats , say 15-16 footers might be considered. Don't give up hope t...

I wouldn't do it with only the lifting rings and I think I'm fearless. At least keep something under the boat even if you move it aroud as you work from one area of the boat to the other. Safety first! You want to see that boat in the water again.

Plank widths?

I have a '54' Riviera. The inner planks are all different widths (3-3/4'', 4-1/4'', and 4-3/4'')and seemed very randomly placed although they are matched across from each other. The outer bottom planks are also random widths (5-1/2'' through 9'') and match across from each other. Why might this have...

Is the gas cap chain hard attached to the bottom of the fill pipe or is there a rod at the end that won't let the cap and chain come out? This is on a '54' Riviera. Thanks!!!

My intension for this is to lift the boat up just enough to get it off the trailer bunks enough to sand and finish the bottom while leaving the boat on the trailer. This would be done just partially in an area to work on it. I would not be lifting the entire boat all at once. With the bottom at an a...
