There are always things to change when doing an engine swap but when you switch types of fuel the list grows.
I'm hoping one of the more experienced gear heads chime in but what comes to mind for me would be things like water pick-ups (larger), exhaust(larger), shafts, struts, props, stuffing boxes(larger). Not sure if the fuel tanks and fuel lines would have to be changed. Fuel filtering is more involved with diesel, I know that from having a diesel truck and a diesel tractor.
If you're switching to newer generation diesels there are things to consider in terms of energy management electronics and computer controls but if you're thinking about this swap I'm sure that is already part of the thought process.
Good luck with this endeavor, I'll be watching for replies from others.

In addition to Craig's list, you may have to raise your floor. The Detroits are are going to be taller than your 454's.
