Looking for 1954 Riviera Seat Cushion Source

Post by snopro65 » Wed Jun 22, 2011 8:59 am

I have the 6 original red seat cushions from my Riviera and they are starting to come apart. A local upholstry shop quoted $250 per cushion....Does anyone have a source that can make replacements at a better price?

Just got off the phone with Jack. He was very helpful in explaining the costs associated with these cushions...what a great guy, I would love to bring the whole boat to him for a new interior someday....but unfortuneatly he is a long way from SE Wisconsin.

Any recomendations for an interiors guy closer to home for me?

I COULD POSSIBLY HELP , JUST SOME DETAILS TO MAKE SURE .
THE THICKNESS OF THE BAND THAT RUNS AROUND THE CUSHION, EARLY YEARS ARE THICKER ABOUT 3" DO YOU NEED THE OUTER SKIN OR JUST THE BLADDERS?
THE EARLY YEARS HAVE INNER BLADDERS MADE OF CLOTH WITH KAPOK HAND STICHED TUFFS.
THE LATER MODELS USED A PLASTIC BAG FILLED WITH KAPOK AND HEAT SEALED. JUST STUFF 3 RECTANGLES INTO SKIN AND SEW CLOSED.
If I can help just give me a yell.
