Carburetor Float Level

Post by offshorespars » Sat Sep 11, 2010 10:11 am

I have a KBL engine converted to a KLC with a single updraft #11849 Zentith. I am rebuilding the carburetor and trying to check the float level. The rebuild kit refers to carburetor Models 63AW10 through 63AW16. Does anyone have a cross reference chart that would tell me what model the #11849 is?
Thanks.

Mike:

Thanks I found that source but it was not a help. I think I have the dimension through another process.

I recognize your boat. I think you were tie up next to me at the Idle Hour after the Labor Day parade. I have the fiberglass 30' Sportsman.

Jim:

Thanks. I don't have the rebuild kit instructions in front of me so doing a little memory work. The insturctions covered a number of carburetor models. 63AW10,63AW12, 63AW14, 63AW16 & 263. There is an intake jet mentioned in the instructions that is located at the surface between the carburetor and the intake manifold. The instructions say that for models 14 & 16 these jets are not used. It takes a magnifying glass to see if there is a jet or a plug in this location. I determined that it has a plug so I must have a 14 or 16 model carburetor. Both have a float level of 2-1/64". So that is what I used.
Thanks again.
