1966 Cavalier Cutlass 22'

Post by gerconst » Sat Jul 24, 2010 9:08 pm

I have just purchased my first all wood boat. I have a 1968 commander and a 1969 aluminum roamer. I found this cutlass and could not pass it up. As far as I can tell there is no rot. My question is what is the best way to maintain the plywood hull? I bought it from a dealer so previous information is veage. At some point I would like to do a 5200 bottom but I don't think it needs it now. Any information or direction will be greatly appreciated. Dave

Just read the entire hull construction thread(which I should have done first). Looks like I will remove the ablative bottom paint, add acouple of coats of cps and then paint the hull with some ablative.
