So we are going to go look at a 1956 46' Connie on Sunday....Its in the water and runs...so we are thinking about using it to tie us over until our 35 footer is finished.....I think we need our heads checked!

Of course you do. You won't be able to just "use" an old lady and puff up her makeup. You need to probe, paint and finish and you'll have two projects. Well thanks for rescueing another old lady in need of some TLC.

I'm in Cell 8 in the same nut house. Come visit.

Spent yesterday towing my '61 32' off an Island on Lake Ontario. Pretty stressful. She's been neglected for almost 2-years over there so it was time to get her home. Now she'll be neglected where she sits while I finish the '50 41' DCFB.

Regardless - it was a nice sunny day - and bringing a 32' Chris on a ferry was interesting. Everyone with a cell phone was taking pics. I'm never going into the boat moving business!

DEAR GOD! Take an Ice pick with you and stab the cra%^ out of the chines mid cabin and base of the transome.Then go home and thank the gods for what you found before its to late. Sorry, I am in the middle of making that same mistake. I fell for the rest of the boat only to find out about it's little 10K issue. I also needed to refresh my Barrel back at the same time. 2 boats at the same time can be devistating and ruin all the fun of just one.

We ended up not getting her...Im sad..our boat wright checked her out for about 3 hrs and found it to be a pretty good ole girl...but we need to focus on the one we are working on.It would have been great for the family with all the room that it offered.

Matt..you need to find a boat wright like I have...bring her down to NC. He works on Trumpys during the day and works on mine in the afternoon and weekends....and hes really reasonable, it wouldn't be a $10K issue.

Matt, both chines and adjoining bottom and side planks on my 27' Connie was around 5K. That included a little frame repair work on the starboard (under the head) as well.
