Front and rear deck re varnishing.

Post by Judge1948 » Sat Jun 15, 2019 11:03 am

Preparing to revarnish both decks and upper rails. All hardware is off except windshield and lifting rings. Windshield comes off next. I’d like to remove lift rings but not sure how to do it. I’ve had tank out several times before but don’t want to do it again if I don’t have to. I’ve looked at hardware underneath front deck but unsure how they come off. Don’t exactly remember configuration on the transom. Is the ring threaded onto the rod under deck or does the entire metal/ “looks like bronze”structure need to be removed from under the fore and aft decks? Can someone help me find how to get those off so I can do this well. Thanks for your help.

Thanks sometimes I make things harder than they really are. I didn’t loosen locking but so entire rod pulled out but I’m sure it’ll be fine. I’ll reset lock nut later if need be.
