Messed up ID!

Post by edzeranski » Tue Apr 09, 2019 10:00 pm

A friend and I bought what we thought was a 1959 Sportsman 17 to restore and use but....... After looking it is, as best we can tell, a Mercury Sabre from the same era. The boat was repowered with a 283 that looks to be Chris so the mistake on the boat identification. I'm not sure if we can trace the CF registration number but still plan to go ahead with the restoration toward use for our families. Any of you Chris Folks have experience with Mercury boats??

Thanks a lot in advance!

I don't have any experience with Mercury's but here is a story that Texx did in 2013.

And another from 2012.

It should make you a GREAT boat!
