Framing, planking and fairing. Repair, or reconstruction. If it's hull related, you'll find it here.

I do not see a Model 205 for 1930. There was a 205 in 1931 however.

Unfortunately no overall weights are listed, just engine weight. In the 1932 catalog, a Model 306, 25-foot Custom with a 6-cylinder Chrysler is listed at 3,800 pounds. Engine weight is 925 pounds.

I know, I know, this is just the guess that you didn't want. I don't see how the Model 205 would vary from this more than 200-300 pounds though.

Center of Gravity

I have found that most all Chris Crafts can be lifted in the middle just in front of motor. It takes a little work but you can get it close.

Mike,
The Essential Guide lists the weight at 3100-3275 lbs. The extra 175 lbs. would have to be for the optional Sedan cabin top. So the runabout should weigh in at 3100 lbs. with the original Chrysler engine.

Mike,

The Chrysler Royal straight eight is listed at 1074 lbs with the straight drive: 1167 lbs with the 1.43 reduction: 1194 lbs with the 2.03: 1211 lbs with the 2.52: 1223 lbs with the 3.17: and 1409 lbs with the 4.48 reduction gear.

This data is from the Chrysler Royal data sheet that came with my research packet from the MM for my 1947 R & W Express.

Not the complete answer, but at least some correct data to help in your quest.

Follow up to Arnie's post, with the Royal, weight differential could be higher. I'll do some digging to see if we have any other 1930-31 materials.

I would say your hull would be within a couple of hundred pounds from the 1932 25 Custom. These specs were for a 925 pound engine. Up that engine weight to 1125 gives you a difference of 200 pounds as well. So my best estimate would be 3,800-4,000 pounds.

A little less weight due t the 1 foot shorter hull, a little more weight due to the Royal.
