Water pump change
I have a 1957 CC Sedan with 2 KLO engines. Was considering swapping out the Sherwood brass gear impeller type water pump for a Jabsco 5850 with a rubber impeller. The spec says the Jabsco will provide 12 GPM at 1700 RPMs and 17 GPM at 3000 RPM. Is there a issue with forcing water into the engine crankcase? Is the Jabsco compatible with the KLO engine? Thank you.
Re: Water pump change
No one makes a pump for the K series engines anymore. When they did both pumps for the K and M series engines took the same impeller. My logic says they would pump similar amounts of water. If water ends up in the crankcase there is probably another issue. We sell lots of the 5850 pumps that get put on K series engines and have had no complaints.

Re: Water pump change
Thanks for the response Jim. The Jabsco 5850s are still available and sold correct? Thanks very much for your insight.
