Oil pressure drop

Post by mbigpops » Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:47 pm

At the end of last season after the most use in 3 years my KL oil pressure dropped from 30 to 10 lbs.

I was concerned but not overly as the high use was always in the back of my mind.

Fast forward after the end of year oil change and topping off prior to first run and oil pressure was back solid at 30 lbs.

Can thin oil from use cause this ?

Fuel pump leaking into the block thinning out the oil? Friend had the same issue.
What weight oil are you using?

I am using 30W Brad Penn oil.

I guess I can do the sniff test and check for fuel in the oil.

Perhaps another thing to check would be water leaking into the oil cooler and making it too thin??
