Original paint colours for 1955 Capitan

If it doesn't pertain to metal, wood, wire or fabric—but it is about vintage Chris-Crafts, ask your question or give your advice here.

Original paint colours for 1955 Capitan

Post by smrkej » Wed May 15, 2019 3:22 pm

Hello all. I've just purchased a 34-foot 1955 Capitan. Can anyone tell me what the original paint colours were in the cabin and outside? (ie. the exact white, bottom colours) Just starting my journey so anything anyone can tell me about this or the boat would be appreciated.

Don't know the factory original colors but I just wanted to say congrats and at-a-boy for taking on a vintage 34 foot cruiser project.

Welcome! Congratulations on your acquisition. Here is the page from The Essential Guide. It gives a little info on colors and equipment. Feel free to ask any questions here, there are some pretty knowledgeable individuals here.

She is located in LaSalle, Ontario, Canada. She just arrived at the marina this Friday. And I spent the weekend assessing what we have to do to get her ready to go in the water within two weeks. I promise to post some pictures when I'm more organized! So much to do, but it's all good! Thank you everyone for your replies. :)
