Bilge Paint
Soon I will be ready to paint the bilge (inside) of my boat which was originally the old red lead (for a lack of a better word) paint. My question is, what paint should I use that will work over some of the original paint since there is still a bit of that left? I have treated all the new wood and cleaned (wire brushed/sanded) all of the original and would like to paint it all with the same paint that will be close to the original color.

Sandusky Paint has #9605 red mahogany bilge paint. www.sanpaco.com The red lead you mention is a type of primer, which they also have. It's a good outfit w/ quality products.
Boats are to be made of wood, otherwise, God would have grown fiberglass trees.

Terry, I have been using RepcoLite for over twenty years . Always good and never let me down. They are in Holland, Michigan and I think they supplied Chris-Craft back in the day. They call the color you want " Mahogany bilge". www.repcolite.com. Have fun.
