I am currently restoring a 1951 18' riviera and need help on the following:
1. The hinge for the engine hatch uses two rods that each go into holes in the ajacent frame members. I would like to reuse this same type of hinge symtem so does anyone know where this hinge can be located.
2.I am in need of a new gas tank and does anyone know of a scource on the west coast as I am in Los Angeles. I have also been talking to Rayco Mfg.
3I have taken hundreds and hundreds of pixs of the boat as I was taking it apart, but there are some areas that I missed. Would anyone like to share photos or possibly know where plans can be gotten.I have gotten what I can from the Mariners Museum.
Thank you.

The hinge is two solid brass rods held in place by a brass plate. You can probably get these at a local hardware store.

Re: 1951 18' CC Riviera
Can anyone shed some more light on this area?
I did a search and this is the post that came up.
I've got a 1951 Riviera.
I'm trying to get my hatch back in the boat now that it is almost ready to go in the water (FINALLY!!).
I've got four brass plates, all with holes through them.
I've got at least one more spot where it seems a plate was at one point.
It seems to me that both inner plates should be flat plates without holes. I don't have any like that, but I'm sure that's because over the years they were lost before I got the boat.
I can fab some up, and I think I have a good grasp of how it should be done, but would like any input.
Thanks!!

The 2 with a big hole in the center mount on the deck framing. The 2 without a big hole in the center go on the hatch to keep the rod from backing out.

That makes sense to me!
Except, all four of my plates have holes through them. Who knows what happened over the years?
I guess I'll just grab some flat stock and fab some plates up.
Anyone have pictures of the latch stop setup? (Not recalling the appropriate name... the metal bars that hold the hatch locked open)
I have the two pieces, but they had some dodgy stainless bolts that were pretty long.
Thanks!!
