Bronze Hardware / Stainless Fasteners?

Post by joanroy » Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:24 pm

I'm rebedding some deck hardware and considering refastening with some stainless bolts instead of bronze. I always use bronze only below the water line, but am wondering if mixing bronze with stainless is a problem with hardware. Will it damage the hardware and make it difficult to take apart down the road?

This is a link to a nobility chart. The closer 2 metals are, the more compatible. It appears that certain bronze alloys and certain stainless alloys are very compatible, but without more information no one can guarantee you anything.
