CAPRI Script Needed

Post by Pete DeVito » Sun Dec 16, 2012 7:45 pm

I am looking for the CAPRI script that goes on the transom of a 19' Capri. Does anyone out there have a set of the letters they have in a drawer at home? this was the only hardware missing and I think they either fell off or they took them off at some point to varnish.

I've never seen any used ones for sale. I am missing a few letters. You can get a brand new set from California Classic Boats.

I am working on getting them made. Have the CONTINENTAL set done. No idea on time the CONTINENTAL took over a year.

Chad, just switch the A and the R and you're there. It will go perfect for cruising the Upper Illinois River, now famous for its Asian breed of them.

Chad,
If you noticed I spelled it out for Jim and he gave me the CAPRI lettering just as I asked. I am sure Jim would not make a mistake and give you something you did not ask for. Check your hull card for the correct spelling on what came on your boat it may be special and you could have a one off. I know Matt and I both have CAPRI!
Good luck! Is your boat named Scrabble

Ha! An appropriate name after all of this.

Truth is, MacKerer walked by the day it was shipped and said "That's CRAPI". Upon fear of reprisal the workers quickly changed the letters before he returned. Jim must have heard the same story.

Thanks for the suggestion, I checked the hull card this morning and it does indeed, say "CRAPI". I may just have the rarest Chris Craft of all.

It's surly not my view on fiberglass boats like the one you are restoring Chad. Must be the McHenry school system.
