Proper prop for 19' BB with K engine

Post by SportNWood » Sat Mar 30, 2019 3:46 pm

My boat's hull card shows it was delivered with a 7907 "Wheel" according to the charts this would have been 12x12 1/2 x1
I have a 12x12x1 super cup on my boat now would this be the best prop for my boat? I can run at 3000 rpm at WOT and cruise at 2500 rpm.

Thank you,

Niel

I would think the 12x12 cupped wheel should perform about the same as the original 12x12 1/2. The extra cup makes up for the 1/2” less pitch.
Boats are to be made of wood, otherwise, God would have grown fiberglass trees.

Capt. Nemo,

Thank you for the reply.

That is what I have been told as well.

I was just a bit confused, the prop that came on my boat was 13x13 and it came from an elevation of 5000ft. In looking at information on proper sizing for elevation changes, the general wisdom is to go larger at lower elevation and obviously 12x12 1/2 is smaller.

Thank you again,

Niel
