Polishing Chrome

Post by Rrufli » Thu Aug 22, 2019 10:22 am

I am a new owner and want to polish my chrome. Thinking of using Nevr-Dull. Any issues? Should I tape off the wood ?

Nevr Dull is a very good product for chrome. I use it and don't tape off the varnish, but I am careful not to rub it into the varnish. It isn't an abrasive product.

I have routinely use Mother's Mag wheel cleaner to get off the oxidation followed with Mother's chrome polish. Some might disagree but for mildly pitted or badly tarnished pieces I start with # 00000 steel wool. Be sure and clean it well after because the steel wool will rust quickly in weather or you can use bonze wool which costs appreciably more but wont rust. Good luck.
