Preserving deck wood

Post by trebot » Tue Jul 16, 2019 7:16 pm

Have '56 Continental. The deck has been subjected to the elements, varnish is peeling, but the wood itself is in good shape. Not going to be able to get boat stored in garage for a few months. Is there anything I can "paint" the deck with to preserve it til I can get her in a garage and do an adequate restoration? Thought about sanding sealer, but don't know if that would interfere with actual restoration. Thanks, Kurt

It sounds like your going to have to strip it to bare wood anyway. I would tarp it or put up a shelter to put it under. You could do shrink wrap with some vents if you can find a guy and the cost would be about $300.
