green mint paint for cabin top ?
Moderators: Don Ayers, Al Benton, Don Vogt
From recollection, this item has been discussed quite a few times. I recall reading in the archives about a year ago that Chris Craft did not keep records (or none are known to have been kept) of the actual Pantone colour codes for the cabin tops. I've seen everything from a 'mint-green' to teal and turquoise. Your best bet "may" be to get a paint chip or sample of what you want to paint it and have your paint mixed to match. I'll be going through the same process in a months time.

Yes, pretty much anything to do with these ladies can be tedious and expensive! My wallet is getting used to the punishment though.
Curious - did CC have a mint-green come out of the factory? I do know the teal/turquoise was a factory color...just wondering about the green??
In regards to keeping things original - while it is nice to keep things as original as possible, it's often very difficult or impossible to keep things completely 100% factory. Aside from missing pieces of hardware, defunct electronics, etc. there are personal customizations (such as what I've had done with the aft-cabin door on my DCFB, moving it from centre to starboard side) that just makes some of these ships more functional.
I heard a story recently where someone reno'd their cruiser so that the galley/dinette was in the aft of the boat and where you'd typically find those - saloon forward - was the master berth. Made for a much more functional ship, given people were always tramping through the aft cabin to get to the aft deck or fly bridge. Why CC never thought of this is beyond me - but it makes complete sense.
