Post by WoodenRookie » Thu Mar 19, 2015 9:13 am

Looking for sources and recommendation on installing new Vernier style Throttle cable on my 1959. Anyone upgrade their system to a morse style rod cable? I need throttle linkage kit to Carb and new cable. I am looking for recommendations. thanks

Vernier cables are common in aircraft. Try Aircraft Spruce.

Fisheries Supply in Seattle and online can make one up to meet your length requirements. They are at www.fisheries.com. Just replaced mine in my 1959 18' Capri w/283. Made all the difference. Their pricing is very favorable compared to others.

You'll need the bracket for the manifold. Have only found after market ones which are more inclined to the hot rod/speed equipment side of the world. Chris Craft did make a nice bracket (I've seen pictures of it) for the Morse cable but have not found one yet. If you find, let me know!!

That's it!!! U da Man!!

I finally found some pix's this morning and sent them off to a couple of parts companies. This is the bracket that I saw awhile back but could never locate one.

If WoodenRookie doesn't buy it I will. Have two boats that need them.

Thanks Tom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I sent my Chysler M-27 over to Jim McNeilly's in Brinnon, WA. He's doing a great job. He has used your sources before and knew of Mike. Also, David Van Ness has been really responsive and supportive. Thanks again.
