Strut angle

Post by parroteyes » Mon Jul 28, 2014 9:32 am

My strut is #2583

Does any one know the angle of this strut.

I measured it as 15.6 degrees ( tan = 6-1/8 / 27-1/8 ) using a laser level. The center line of the shaft being 6-1/8 inches above the strut base and the laser projected center line being 27-1/8 " down the table.

I would appreciate conformation.

Thanks

On my '56 Continental, the liturature says it is a 15 degree strut. I am not sure if yours is the same, but I would bet it is. I am sure they had some standard design principals and 15 seems pretty 'standard'.
