1937 17' Deluxe strut

1937 17' Deluxe strut

I'm in the process of restoring #71171 which came without the strut, shaft and shaft log. where do I find the original part number. The keel hole shows about 20 degrees angle for the shaft. The information I have shows it delivered with the K engine which I will reinstall. I also need the number for the exhaust coupler, 45 degree to port.

If you dont get an answer sooner, i will be pulling my boat out of the lake in aug. to take to a show and can give you the info then. all my gear is original. I will check the exhaust number shortly and pass that on to you.

Hi it looks like mine is 1645. a bit hard to read. I got mine from classic boat connection. you can call them and they will know which one has the 45 degree to port layout. also when i had mine restored, we had to get a new exhaust nut. unfortunately only the post war ones were available. the original is only 4 sides. van ness engineering made them in that style for the 19 barrel but i kept getting the run a round from them about the fact that they claimed they were in the process of making them for the 17'. I ultimately used a post war version as i had run out of time. so I dont know if anyone has made the pre war version since then (about 2007)?

why not post some pictures of your restoration. i am of course biased, but i think it is a great model.

Here are three K series elbows together.
To port on the left is for exhaust pipes with a single bend.
To chine in the middle is for three bend exhaust pipes.
Between stringers on the right is for utilities.

what are the extra holes on the rear deck for?

Under thread title click on Post Reply
In post reply, under where the message is typed, is "Options" and "Attachments". Click on Attachments. In Attachments It says "Add File". That's the easy part.

From here there needs to be an interface between chris-org.com ( Browser) and where the photo file is located (file folder). I use my desktop so when I take pictures, I transfer them to the desk top which brings up Windows File Explorer. Most people are using cell phones. Simplest may be browse to Chris-Craft.org on the device that the pictures are located, or copy the pictures to that favorite device. Just make sure your browser has permission to access your photos and life savings.

The holes in the deck are for Bling.

I can't find impressions where the horns were mounted under the aft deck. I may be stuck with genuine Chris Craft Trumpet Horns, sticking with my definition of "as delivered from the factory".

Thanks for the heads up. I may have to wait for Don to pull his boat for the show. I have a triple bend pipe but It's too long so I'll have to wait. Plenty of time.
