I haven't found a willing local engine repair shop willing to take on my project. Engine is frozen. Have pulled head and put in lubrication to lossen it up but no luck.
A few questions.
* Any recommendations for shops that can do Hercules K overhaul? Being in Alaska, west coast shops are of interest but not required.
* I expect Carb, Generator, Water Pump, etc need to be worked over. Am I likely to find a shop that does it all?
* Any comments on trying to maintain original engine with the hull vs doing a swap for another operating K engine?

Hi Rodger,
Jim is right. If you have any NAPA shops up there they carry many of the replacement parts like pistons, rings etc. If they have a machine shop they should do a good job. We use them down here. Of course you will have to do the detailing yourself as they are more into the functional aspects and not so much the show quality cosmetics. Jim (drrot) carries a number of items like motor mounts and bearings. Most of the parts info is out there if you look hard enough. If you can't find it just ask on this site and you should get plenty of suggestions. Good Luck.
