Looking for Help Identifying Distributor Cap & Rotor

Post by North Woody » Fri May 22, 2020 2:46 pm

I ran to Napa this morning to grab an extra cap and rotor for my 1952 ML engine but I came home empty handed. The guy at Napa was unable to identify the right unit, and all I had was a picture of my distributor (Auto-Lite 3W 4149A 6G). I tried to post pics of my distributor and engine plate if you guys can help me identify what I need to pick up to have on hand but they don’t seem to display (I’ll keep trying tho). Thanks for the help!

Contact Jim at Fine Wood Boats, inc in Three Lakes 815-344-9663

Unless you know the NAPA Echlin part numbers specifically it's a real struggle getting a car parts store to help, which I learned early on. Easier to talk to someone who knows what your looking for and may even have NOS

Had same problem getting cap & rotor for my KL. Got parts from Classic Boat Connection at classicboatconnection.com. 507-344-8024. I saw a listing for your motor.

Super, thanks Jim. Our lake home is up on Anvil Lake just outside of Eagle River, and we just bought a new Natique ski boat from WaterCraft Sales in Three Lakes, so I’ll plan on swinging by your place when we’re up there over the next few weeks to pick up the new boat. Thanks for identifying what I need, and I look forward to following up with you on this!
