I bought the 12V alternator from Pat Crusse at Crussen Classics. Bolted right in. Single wire connection. Ammeter showed the battery charging.

The fasteners for the alternator pulley didn't seem right. The supplied nut was too thin and it had a really thick lock washer. Didn't engage many threads on the short shaft. So I bought an external-tooth lock washer online and a standard nut - M16-1.5. I installed the nut with a small 3/8" drive electric impact wrench. (Don't use a large, powerful 1/2" drive impact - ask me how I know.)

I think a serrated flange nut would be ideal, but I could only find it in M16-2.0.
