1951 Riviera Horn Ring and How to activate horn

Post by PaulB » Thu Feb 06, 2025 9:39 am

I am trying to restore a Riviera Horn system. I am making some progress and have learned that the 1951Riviera used a 1941 to 1948 Ford passenger car steering wheel with a horn ring. Because of the throttle lever being in the place where a horn button would typically be installed on the ford car the horn button of course has been replaced with the throttle lever. So I am assuming that the horn ring when pushed in must complete a circuit by grounding somehow. I can not find anyone who can show me a picture or a diagram of how this works. I have spend hours and hours with this. Hope someone can reach out to me by email or text or phone. 208 603 0076 Brand new owner of Chris Craft Riviera (first one) and new member I can provide any additional photos or info. Thank you in advance
