Keep on 'Keepin' On'! You're doin' great! Looks like you're back to good wood now! Despite the amount of rot as a % it's comparatively small! That has to be comforting.

It's kind of like Road Kill. You have to look, but really what can you say?

Keep up the good work!

On the Constellations you don't find the layer of canvas between the layers of planking like you do on the smaller boats. Does anyone know why that is so?

If memory serves me, there is canvas between the planks slathered in Dolphinite below the waterline on most of them...... But lucky for me I have a double plank bottom and have never had to do any below waterline repairs yet.... yet, means wait for it..... So for today's lesson we learned that rot is eternal, and like cancer will travel. Yes, you can park a Buick in my bow at this point. Just think, it makes easy access to the galley for a sandwich...... Next we mock up the new stem in purple heart. Am I the only insane one in this group? Therapy session please!

My wife did scream at this point. She had removed the varnish during the winter.

You don't want to even consider the final bill at this point so I recommend the pay as you go program...

To all,

I had a heart attack on Dec 1st last year and have been out of the game for a while. We finished the bow and the pics are here. We will be at the 26th annual Chris Craft Rendezvous this upcoming July in Port Orchard!

Sorry to hear of your event. Hope all is well.

Your Connie looks great! :D

I am going to make it to that Rendezvous one of these years, just won't be this one again.

Please keep us informed.

Sorry bout your heart attack, glad to see you are keeping on... me too, except I had some family issues with aging parents that used up some time. Take it as it comes, do what you can.

Life often seems to get in the way doesn't it.

Last summer American Beauty stayed on the hard as Sandi's father was ailing and passed in June. This year we are anticipating our first week long cruise on her in July.

You're definitely not alone:

I can't wait until I make my way to the bow...

Well, I'm just speechless at the amount of work beneath all that seemly harmless white paint. What I found under my white paint was a lot of extra screw holes at an attempt to secure loose planks to rotted frames. When I looked closer at the old transom planks, they too had extra screws bunged in. The boat surveyor definitely missed that as sign of rot damage. Lesson learned.

Glad you are back healthy! She looks great and is an inspiration, no doubt!

Keep the great work,
John
