Boring Riviera 20 Shaft Hole

I'm finishing up my boring tool and it's turning out really well...simple, high precision, and inexpensive. I'm moving onto the next steps and was wondering how oversized the hole should be for a 1" shaft because I don't have a reference. My project boat was heavily modified and damaged. My plan is to center the strut and use a block to start the hole with a target centered. Along these lines, I don't have a forward/aft reference for the strut or hole. Without other options, I will use the plans for the Mariner's Museum to locate the strut. I would rather use a measurement off another boat to confirm. Can anyone can confirm the distance from the transom to the aft edge of the strut. Is there a standard distance? I want to make sure there will be no issues with the engine placement later if this is wrong.

Thanks,

Clay :D
