1950 Sportsman Deck Seams

Greetings,

I'm putting a new finish on my 1950 U-22. The false deck seams are a bit shallow to hold sealant after fairing and sanding. The deck is in nice shape and doesn't need to be replaced except for one cracked plank. Any tips on reworking the seams in place? I was thinking of getting a small router (maybe a dremel with attachment) or just use a sharp blade, straight edge and chisel. Can anyone confirm the original width and depth for the seams? It's hard to judge with the years of use with paint on top of the caulk. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks,
Clay Platt
