Caulking bottom seams.

Framing, planking and fairing. Repair, or reconstruction. If it's hull related, you'll find it here.

Caulking bottom seams.

Post by trebot » Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:04 pm

Have '56 Continental with original bottom in good shape. 'I've previously caulked bottom seams with 3m 4200. It worked fine and there was no soak needed with minimal water intrusion. Looking for something maybe a little more flexible than the 4200.
Wondering what caulk others use and their experience

We use SikaFlex lot 291 for all seams and it works very well.

Boatlife or Sikaflex as Martime Classics said.
Boatlife will push out easier if the planks swell a lot.
