Exhaust hole location

Post by JimF » Sat Feb 16, 2019 9:58 am

I took over a project that a previous owner had abandoned. It is a 1956 19' Capri. The transom planks were missing so I have no pattern planks. That is not a problem except that I need to locate the exhaust hole. I have replaced the planks and I can locate the spray rail. The exhaust flange has the flattened top so I assume it is up against the spray rail. I need to know how far the hole is from the port side. If someone has or is near a similar boat could I get a measurement?
Also, while you are behind the boat with a tape measure, how far down from the top edge of the top plank does the blonde part go? I can get the width of that from the deck seams but I don't know how far down to extend the blonde.

Jim, we are working on the restoration of a 1955 19' Capri so hopefully this helps. It looks like the hole is 4 inches from the edge of the plank. Let me know if you need anything else.

The blonde on the transom in the middle is 1 11/16 from the bottom of the transom edge and then the corners are 3 7/16 from the bottom edge.
