bending top sides

rebuilding a 17 ft cc ski boat after removing top 3 side cover boards notice if you stand them on edge it would take a 11 inch board to cut them from ,question is how much will a 3/8 x 6 inch board bend on the flat side down ,yes first time bending mahogany ,bent spruce but that was 55 years ago [now 82] this is new adventure .also rebuild antique & classic cars Thanks for your help

Sadly the board will not bend at all on the flat. Some restorers have used an extra piece to reduce the need for the wide width but that requires excellent grain match and joint cutting.
